Antitrust Advocates Oppose Whirlpool/Maytag Merger

According to The Chicago Tribune, an antitrust advocacy group wants the Justice Department to block Whirlpool Corp.'s proposed purchase of Maytag Corp.. The group wants the government to at least require the Benton Harbor, Mich.-based company to spin off holdings in its laundry business.
